Margaree Garner Broadway, age 100 of Lexington, passed away Sunday morning January 17, 2021, at Brookstone Retirement Center in Lexington.
Margaree was born in Davidson County, January 17, 1921, to Charlie Clyde Garner and Jessie Parks Garner.
She was a member of Beck’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and was retired from Lexington Weaving.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wade Broadway, two sons; Ronald Broadway and Larry Broadway, and her sisters; Carnell Farrell, Evelyn Hanes, Lorraine Weaver, Nadine Leonard, and Sandra Swing, and her brother, Dale Garner.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Charles Broadway (Judy) of Lexington; 6 grandchildren, Randall Broadway (Tabitha), Angela Yarbrough, Ronald Lee Broadway, Melissa Charles, Leslie Griffin (Ronald), and Jeff Broadway (Molly) and 4 great-grandchildren, Rusti Broadway, Megan Charles, Dalton Broadway and Wesley Broadway. Also, surviving are two daughters-in-law, Rita Broadway and Betty Ann Broadway, her brother, Fred Garner (Nancy) of Lexington; and her sister, Betty June Ball of Lexington; and her special friend and caretaker, Kay Watkins of Lexington.
Graveside Service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Beck’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery Conducted by Pastor Chris Johnson. The family will receive friends following the service in the cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending the graveside must wear a mask and use social distancing of 6 feet. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to make memorials to Beck’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. 441 Beck’s Church Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
