Sarah was married on March 1, 1791, in old Jefferson County, Kentucky, to John Wilcox.

Sarah is either buried in an unmarked grave located 4 miles north of Shelbyville, in Shelby County, Kentucky, on the land her father surveyed and patented in her name, the Wilcox farm, where there is a Wilcox graveyard, or possibly in the Wilcox Family Graveyard, located in the suburbs of Louisville, established by her son Gibson Taylor Wilcox. No headstone has been recorded in Shelby County or the Gibson Wilcox Family Graveyard.

By 1836 Sarah had moved with her daughter Elizabeth Forbis to Boone County, Missouri. About 1844 her son-in-law Alfred G. Beckley came and brought her back to Kentucky, where she lived with her son Gibson. She wrote her will on May 25, 1846, in Jefferson County, Kentucky.

***PLEASE NOTE: The Haden Boone listed as a brother is not the brother of Sarah Boone Wilcox, and not the son of Squire Boone (born 1744) and Jane Van Cleave Boone (born 1749). If Jane had been Haden's mother she would have been almost 61 when he was born. According to the Boone Family history Haden Boone is the son of Squire Boone (born 1777) and Mourning Grubb. Squire Boone (born 1777) was the son of George Boone. George Boone was a brother to Daniel Boone and Squire Boone (born 1744). Thus, Haden was a great-nephew of Squire Boone (born 1744) and Jane Van Cleave Boone.***
