ALTA, Wyo. -- Garlene Kaufman Shappart, 48, of Alta, Wyoming, died February 6, 2007, at her home.
She was born March 15, 1958, in Driggs to Alfred and Phyllis Zohner Kaufman. She lived most of her life in Teton Valley. She married Darrell Shappart; they divorced.
She worked at the Classic Stop in Tetonia and Driggs Plumbing, Kwik Way, Teton Valley News, Papa G's Pizza and Kaufman Polaris, all in Driggs.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Garlene loved horses, making outdoor decorations, sewing and crocheting, and was a marvelous cook; she was a friend to everyone she met.
Survivors include her son, C.W. Shappart of Big Piney, Wyo.; mother, Phyllis Kaufman of Alta, Wyo.; and siblings, Warren Kaufman and Julie Kaufman, both of Alta, Ardell Kaufman of St. Anthony and Ben Kaufman of Tetonia.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Driggs LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday before services at the church. Burial will be in the Pratt Cemetery in Alta under the direction of Valley Mortuary of Driggs.
