Alton Martin went home to our Heavenly Father on December 6, 2020 at the age of 89 in Lewisville. He was born June 1, 1931 in Gladewater Texas to D.B. & Dona Mae Martin. He married Dolores Isaac on December 17, 1954 and they were married for 63 years until her death in 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, D.B. & Dona Mae Martin, his younger brother, Olan Lee, his wife, Dolores Martin, and his oldest grandchild, Chad Linley.

Alton is survived by three daughters, Cathy Sullivan (her husband Brian), Nancy Martin (her husband Kelly), and Lori Dean (her husband Mike). He is survived by six grandchildren, Cody Linley, Ben Sullivan (his wife Jessica), Scott Sullivan, Audree Johnson, Kaylee Lirely (her husband Loren), and Kendall Hiles (her husband Collin). He is survived by one great-grandchild, Adelyn Lirely.

Alton was a graduate of Gladewater High School and from Baylor University where he excelled in the ROTC program. He moved up in ranks to become a pilot in the Air Force and had a long career with Mobil Oil in Dallas. He has enjoyed living the last 50 years in Lewisville.

Alton was a family man and loved his daughters' families including his grandchildren and great grandchild. One of Alton's greatest passions was any kind of sport. You would often find him writing down stats and records for Lewisville High School, Baylor University, and the Dallas professional teams. He played basketball and tennis in high school and was a proud member of the marching band.

Alton loved the Lord and loved serving the church. He was an active member and deacon at Lakeland Baptist Church. Another of his passions was good music. He loved to sing and listen to good spiritual music in the evenings at his home. He and Dolores especially enjoyed the activities at the Lewisville Senior Center, and would especially enjoy the sing-a-longs where they sang old hymns and worship songs along with their cherished friends. We are thankful for the legacy of faith that he passed down to his family.

An open visitation will be held, Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, from 12-1pm. The funeral service will be a private family service.
