Born June 6, 1920 at Jonesboro, she was the daughter of the late Herndon Marcellus Dodson and Nell Cole Dodson. She graduated from Jonesboro High School and attended Arkansas State University.
She married Glenn Warham Wester, Jr. on October 27, 1940. He predeceased her in death on April 24, 1971.
A resident of Pine Bluff from 1946 until 1992, she worked as assistant treasurer at the Cotton Belt Credit Union from 1960-1985. Mrs. Wester was a member of First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs and a former member of First United Methodist Church of Pine Bluff.
She was a former member of the Port O’ Cotton Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association in Pine Bluff and was an active volunteer with several other organizations.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Tuney “Trey” Bailey, III; and two sons-in-law, James “Doc” George and Jackie Maxwell.
Survivors include three daughters, Janelle George of Pine Bluff, Carole Sue Maxwell of Sherwood, and Melissa Graham (Mike) of Heber Springs; six grandchildren, Roxanne Bailey, Yancey Bailey (Dabney), Kim Lydick (Chuck), Mitch Graham (Katy), Brett Graham (Melissa), and Leah Graham (Ricky); and eight great-grandchildren
A private graveside service will be held in Graceland Cemetery at Pine Bluff with Brother Todd Anderson officiating. Arrangements are by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
