Mr. Funk was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII retiring in 1971. After retirement he began a second career with Dixieline Lumber Co. in Escondido, CA. He was a lifelong member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #1513 in Escondido, CA, a member of Fleet Reserve Association #270 for 40 years and a former member of Church of the Resurrection in Escondido, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife: Teresa of Springfield; one daughter: Barbara (husband, Mike) Abrams of Springfield; one son: Anthony L. (wife, Natividad) Funk of Spring Valley, CA; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters: Avis Working of Weyerhaeuser, WI, Lucille (husband, LeRoy) Sonneson of Buckley, WA and several nieces and nephews.
