Mac grew up in Charlestown and was the eldest of 10 children born to the late Cecil & Agnes (Graham) Dora. A painter by trade, he was a proud retired member of The Painters Union Local #577 and loved to attend Union events. He worked for Boston Housing retiring after 18 years of service, where his claim to fame was the many times he portrayed Santa Claus, a role he loved and a memory he cherished.
Loving brother to William Dora of Nevada, John Dora of South Boston, Shirley Donovan of Wilmington, Liz Shepard of Florida, Nan Connolly of East Boston, Cindy Adams of Houghs Neck and the late Robert Dora, Judith Cromwell and Janet Fidler. He shared his home, love and friendship with his sister Cindy her husband Glenn and their 3 children. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, and had a few close friends whom he cherished dearly.
Visiting Hours Tuesday October 11 at the Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St, Quincy Center from 4-7pm. A short Wake Service will begin at 4:30pm with the Rev. Felix Carrion, Pastor of Houghs Neck Congregational Church, officiating. Funeral and interment are private. The family asks that donations in lieu of flowers be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701.
