Lance Cpl. Jeremy W. Burris of of Liberty, Texas was home schooled, was involved with the youth group at Cornerstone Church in Liberty, playing guitar and singing. He attended Lee College in Baytown and a community college in Tacoma, Washington after completing home school. He attended Cornerstone Church in Liberty prior to moving to Washington. Jeremy has a brother also serving in Irag and another brother serving in the Navy. He was awarded the National Defense Service and Global War on Terrorism Service medals. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Meryl Cox and uncle, John Alan Cox. He died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq at age 22.
