Polly Ann was the daughter of Philip Ammerman and Mary Frances Hibler. She married William Simpson on May 8, 1797. They had nine children together which two of them were Isaac H. and Matthias Q.

They moved from New Jersey to the Finger Lakes region of New York and later moved to Indiana.
