Abel R. Mattos, Jr., 88, of Salt Lake, Honolulu. Graduate of Maryknoll Class of '52. Retired proprietor of Abel R. Mattos, Engraver, succeeding his dad, and passing it on to his son Abel III. He also was employed at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Shop 31, and as foreman of Shops 51 & 52 Naval Calibration Lab. He was also was employed as weekend district manager for the Star Bulletin & the HNA and was a licensed real estate salesman and instructor. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War.

Passed away 12/26/2020 in Honolulu, HI. He was born at home in Honolulu.

He is survived by his dearly loved wife Beverly Ruth Mattos, daughters Cheryl-Lynn Mattos, Meredith Mattos-Mohajerin (Thatcher), Justine Klementson (Mitchel), and sons Derwin (Irina), Abel III (Christine), Harlan (Jodie), Ryan (Rae), nine grand- children, eight great-grandchildren and his brothers and sisters.

Private Burial at Diamond Head Memorial Park Cemetery with a Celebration of Life at a later date. Arrangements Provided By: Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel.
