Ronald Lee Edmonds, 78, lifelong resident of Anahuac, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Bayside Community Hospital in Anahuac, Texas. He was born on July 22, 1939, in Homewood, Louisiana to Leroy and Annie Edmonds. Ronnie graduated from Anahuac High School in 1957 and graduated college at Southwest Texas State University in 1962 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Agriculture.
Ronnie began farming and ranching in 1962. After 30 years of farming in Chambers, Liberty, and Hardin counties he decided to start his own construction company which kept him busy for another 20 plus years. He enjoyed cattle ranching with his family and doing anything besides sitting still. Ronnie took great pride teaching his sons his work ethic at an early age and the value of working hard in rice fields, ranching, construction work including building roads, fences, barns, and repairing equipment. Ronnie could operate just about any piece of equipment and taught his boys to do the same.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiled the grandchildren at every opportunity.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Annie Edmonds, brother Charles Edmonds and son Mark Edmonds. He is survived by his loving wife Nadean Edmonds, son Ron Edmonds and wife Denise of Houston, son Ken Edmonds and wife Mignon of Anahuac, and son Chad Edmonds and wife Laurie of Anahuac. Grandchildren Colson and Corgan of Houston, Caleb, Cameron, Braedon and Kirsten of Anahuac.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Anahuac. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m.
