He graduated from North High School in 1960 and went on to honorably serve in the United States Air Force. Jerry retired from Alcoa in 1994 after 25 years of service. He was gentle and caring with a wonderful sense of humor. Jerry was a family man and loved his children and especially his grandchildren deeply. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Lee (Conley) Bivins; son, Christopher Bivins of Evansville, IN; daughters, Billi Hoefling (Joey) of Evansville, IN, Berri Umrani (Nazir) of Jacksonville, FL, Brandi Powell (Del) of Evansville, IN, and Billie Baloch (Yasin) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Woody and Austin Goebel, Amjad, Ehson, Taj, Sabriya, Sajid (Papaw's best friend) and Alliya Umrani, Micheal, Hannah and Issac Powell, Isaiah Bivins, Haleena and Aneesa Baloch; great grandchild, Sawyer Goebel; and by his brother, Charlie Bivins of Evansville, IN.
Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Bobbi Jean Bivins; by his parents; sisters, Linda and Nancy; and by his brothers, Eugene and Robert.
Private services will be held. Burial with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
