Mr. Calvin Ernest Lunsford, age 96 of Suches passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021.

Mr. Lunsford was born and raised in Suches, Georgia on November 17, 1924 to the late Boss & Mamie Lunsford. As a young man, Calvin ventured to Detroit to work in automobile manufacturing. Shortly, later he returned to Suches and began to start his family. Mr.Lunsford was a farmer that grew cabbage and collards to sell at the farmer's market in Atlanta, but grew giant pumpkins just for fun. He would also grow a bountiful garden to sustain his family and share the excess produce with neighbors and friends to show how much he cared for them. He was always wanting to help people. Over the years, Mr. Lunsford also drove trucks with Colwell's and Bramlett's- he enjoyed being on the go. Mr. Lunsford was regimented with his schedule. Family was most important to him so he was dedicated to giving them as much time as possible.

Mr. Lunsford was preceded in death by his first wife, June Lunsford; his parents; and 5 siblings: Conley Lunsford, Margie Edge, Marie Fortenberry, Mertre Bramlett and Alvie Watkins.

Funeral Service, Sunday, January 10, 2021, 2:00PM, Cochran Funeral Home, Blairsville, GA. Interment will be in "The Hill Church" Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church #2 in Suches.
