YORK Arnold P. Smith, 72, died on Monday, October 8, 2007, at York Hospital. Born October 31, 1934, in York, he was the son of the late Willis E. and Mary C. (Adams) Smith. He had worked as an assembler at Shadowfax in York for 21 years and enjoyed gardening and listening to country music. Arnold is survived by his brother, Willis B. Smith and wife, Mary Ann of Hanover; two nieces, Melissa Stalcup and husband, Jamie, and Sarah Smith; a nephew, Gregory Smith and wife, Julie; and great-nephew, Jacob Smith. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Patricia, Mary Ann, and Sylvia Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third St., Hanover, with the Rev. John A. Szada, Jr. as celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Basilica Church Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. Serving as casketbearers will be Gregory Smith, Jamie Stalcup, James Becker, Bruce Spiridonoff, Frank Schuhart, and Joseph P. Smith.
