GRIDLEY - Services for William O. Fortney a longtime farmer in the Gridley-Biggs area will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Gridley Block Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Fortney a Biggs resident died Thursday in a Gridley hospital after a long illness. He had resided in the area since 1933. He was a native of Paso Robles.
He was a past master of Lompoc Masonic Lodge No. 262, in Lompoc; past patron of Lyman Chapter No. 363, Order of Eastern Star of Biggs; past master of Biggs Grange No. 459 and past president of Biggs Community Club.
Mr. Fortney is survived by his wife, Laeta; sons, William H. of Gridley and James L. of San Mateo; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
The family requests that any remembrances be made lo the California Masonic Home or the Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital in care of Gridley Block Funeral Chapel, 679 Ohio St., Gridley, 95948.
