Gerald Lee "Jerry" Gulick, 80, died Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Olpe. He was born on May 11, 1938 in Eureka, the son of Emery and Iva Walkup Gulick. He attended Tonovay High School and graduated with the Class of 1957. Following high school, he worked at Boeing. He later worked for Dick Gilbert on his farm near Neal and at a service station in Eureka. He was united in marriage to Shirley "Sis" McKenzie on February 9, 1957 in Eureka. In 1960, they moved to Oregon and he took a job at a local service station in Powers. He later worked at a local saw mill. They briefly returned to Eureka in 1963. In 1965 they moved to Maize, and he was employed at MBPXL in Wichita. In 1973 while living in Benton, he began working as a plumber while employed at Dean Morris Plumbing. After making their home in Olpe, in 1984, he worked at Spellman Plumbing until his retirement in 2000. He is survived by (removed per Find a Grave guidelines). He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Iva June and five brothers, Walt, Glenn, Duane, Bobbie and Francis. Cremation has been effected. A reception for family and friends was held Saturday, September 29, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Olpe. Memorial contributions may be made to Hand In Hand Hospice or the Neal Community Center and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Home at P.O. Box #488, Madison, Kansas 66860. Mr. Gulick was born on May 11, 1938 in Eureka, Kansas, the son of Emery and Iva Walkup Gulick. Jerry attended Tonovay High School and graduated with the Class of 1957. Following high school, Jerry worked at Boeing. He later worked for Dick Gilbert on his farm near Neal and at a service station in Eureka. He was joined in marriage to Shirley "Sis" McKenzie on February 9, 1957 in Eureka, Kansas.

Gerald will live on in the hearts of his wife, Shirley of their home; daughters, Sharlyn (Tom) Pope of Kansas City, Missouri and Jennel Woelft of Topeka; sons, Steven Gulick of Olpe and Jamie (Treva) Gulick of Olpe; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous extended family and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Iva June and five brothers, Walt, Glenn, Duane, Bobbie and Francis.
