Mr. Leach was born on Jan 24th, 1950 in Parker County, Tx. to the family of Shirley Crow Leach and Odessa Pauline Bradshaw. There were three children born to this marriage; Shirlene Leach Knight, James Mathis Leach, and Gary Lin Leach.
In 1975 Gary and Martha Jane Bruno were married on July 12th in Young County, TX. Throughout their marriage Gary and Martha provided for countless foster children. They adopted one of their foster daughters and raised her son, Paul Acosta, as their grandson.
Although Paul had challenges of his own, Gary and Martha saw him through high school and into a job with Workforce Solutions, where he continues to work today. Gary held an advanced degree in journalism and worked for the Social Security Administration. He and Martha were members of First United Methodist Church of Wichita Falls, where Gary sang in the Chancel Choir, as long as his health permitted, and where Gary participated in a tutoring program.
Gary was a kind and gentle soul whose love for Martha, Paul and the many pets that came through their house was evident to all who knew him. He was most appreciative of all help, visits and kindnesses extended to him and his family. When his health began to fail, and Martha was admitted to long-term care due to her failing health, Gary depended on help from Home Health Services, his friends, Advanced Rehab, and ultimately on Hospice services.
Mr. Leach passed away on January 6th, 2001, and his services are entrusted to Falls Funeral Home. It is requested that any memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls in Gary's memory.
