Thomas married Fanny nee Hyles on 5 Oct 1856 in Ballarat, Victoria. They had 3 (three), children, Thomas, Frances, and, Oscar Filler.
On 12 Mar 1870, he married Mary Jane nee Barrett in Inglewood near Adaminaby, NSW. They had 4 (four), children, Annie Selina, Charles Withy, Arthur Withy, and, Albert Ernest

OBITUARY
Mr. Thomas Hyles
The death occurred on Monday morning, at St. John of God's Hospital of Mr. Samuel Thomas Hyles, and old and respected gentleman of Goulburn. Deceased had been ailing for some time, and for the past 11 months had been in St. John of God's Hospital.
Mr. Hyles was 93 years of age, and was born in Kent, England, and came to Australia when only a boy. He is one of the oldest pioneers of the Monaro district, having resided in it for nearly 50 years. His wife predeceased him by nearly two and a half years. He is survived by five sons and one daughter. The sons are Mr. Oscar Hyles, of Adaminaby, Thomas Hyles, of Tarlo, Charles Hyles, of Goulburn, Arthur Hyles, of Bungendore, and Albert Hyles, of Armidale. Mrs. G. Foster, of Adaminaby, is a daughter.
The interment took place in the Goulburn General Cemetery on Monday afternoon, the funeral was largely attended.
