Services Saturday for Clair Alexander, 78, Almena
Clair Alexander, Almena, died January 15 at the Norton Count Hospital at the age of 78.
Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 18, at 2 pm at the Norton Church of God with the Reverend Pat Tribby officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Almena. Memorials have been established to the Andbe Home, the Church of God, and the Norton County Hospital. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:30 pm Thursday, Friday from 8 am to 8:30 pm, and Saturday until service time at the church.

Clair was born September 11, 1913 in Norton County, the son of Charles Ira and Grace Stone Alexander. He grew to manhood on a farm southeast of Norton and attended the Norton grade and high schools. He married Leona Archer in Norton County May 15, 1938. They made their home southeast of Norton until 1946 when they moved to rural Almena. He was a farmer-stockman.
He was a member of the Norton Church of God, the church board, the township board, and the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Leona, Andbe home, four children, Shirley and husband Derek Kats, Prairie View; Charles and wife Daloris Alexander, Norton; Sharon and husband Gene Poevar, Beaver City; Sandra and husband Bill Salar, Salt Lake City; three sisters, Marie Frydendall, Smith Center; Avis and husband Ralph Agin, California; Betty and husband Bennie Chmiel, Florida; 12 grand children; three great-grandchildren; other relative and many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
