Ingrid Frances Gilbert, age 95, passed away due to heart failure on Wednesday, June 27, 2007. She is survived by her devoted husband, Sidney Gilbert. Ingrid was born in Montreal where she attended business and interior decorating colleges. She was a graduate of Talmud Torah. She was the owner of Ingrid, a European Fashion Boutique until 1983 when she met and married Sidney Gilbert. During her 24 years in Lakeland, she was active in the arts and a symphony patron. Ingrid was a lifetime member of Huadassah and a member of Temple Emanuel.
Along with Sidney Gilbert, she is survived by sons, Howard Katz (Vilma); Kenneth Katz (Fran); grandchildren, Mark Katz (Nancy); Ellen Halpern (Todd); Sindy Katz and Andrew Katz (Stacey); great-grandchildren, Hailey and Adam Halpern, Jessica and Alex Lufty, Emily, Rebecca and Sarah Katz and Danielle and Jamie Katz. She is also survived by stepsons and their families; Jean and Leonard Gilbert, Jonathan Gilbert and Suzanne Gilbert; Beverly and Edward Gilbert; Dr. Aaron Gilbert, Samone Gilbert and husband Rick Acosta and their children, Valon and Peyton Acosta.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Temple Emanuel, Lakeland, FL. Interment will follow at Temple Emanuel Cemetery. Arrangements made by Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Dukes-Steen Chapel.
