Thomas, a longtime resident of Brockton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was born in Norwood and raised in Sharon. He graduated from Sharon High School and UMass - Boston with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics. Thomas was an Airman 1st Class in the U.S. Air Force and a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was a resident of Brockton for 20 years, after living in Bridgewater for several years. He was a machine shop supervisor at the Foxboro Company from 1970 to 1990, and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum from 1990 until his retirement in 2002.
Thomas is survived by his children, Martin Boyden, Matthew Boyden, Rachel (Boyden) Deagle. He was the brother of Gerald A. Boyden.
