Myrtle Weeks Pitts, 91, Independence, formerly of Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, March 31 2015 at her residence in Independence. Mrs. Pitts, daughter of Hoyt and Mary Armstrong Gregg, was born on April 22, 1923, in hackleburg, Alabama. She was a retired food service for the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell and was a member of the First Baptist Church. On August 14 1947, in St. Francis, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Joseph B. Weeks. He preceded her in death on May 16 1950. She later married Roy G. Pitts on August 16, 1959 in Campbell Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 8 1973. her survivors include two daughters, Louise Wagster and Brenda Billings both of Independence; one son, Joe Weeks (Carla) of Wichita, Kansas; one step daughter; five grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and four sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings and two stepsons. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm., Friday April 3 2015 at Landess Funeral Home, in Campbell. Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday April 4, 2015 at the Landess Funeral Chapel with Reverend Marty Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell.
