Beverly Jean Drake, 78, Lincoln, died Monday (11/12/07). Mrs. Drake was born Beverly Jean Anderson on July 25, 1929, in St. Bernice, Ind. Beverly was a graduate of of Lincoln High School and the Realtors Institute, she worked for Harrington's Realty and HOME Real Estate until 1998. Beverly was a Special Olympics Volunteer Coordinator, Meals on Wheels volunteer, member of the Community Playhouse, avid lover of the arts. She was a member of National Realtor Association, and a former Arthur Murray dance instructor and performer. She and her husband, Lloyd, owned the Bev and Blake Dance Studio in Pompano Beach, Fla. until 1964.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hovey Anderson; mother and stepfather, Naomi and Elmer Schleis; and her husbands, Raymond Drake Jr. and Lloyd Ward.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Tausha and Steve Armbruster; Tamera and Scott Brennan; Tobi and John Scofield, all of Lincoln; son, Todd Ward, Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, Talisa and Tom Garvin, Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond (Tripp) and Denise Drake, Eagle; brother and sister-in-law, John Douglas and Chris Schleis, Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Amy and Jay Ostermeyer; Libby and Mikael Nifelhelm; Lindsay Ellis; Sarah and Kelsey Scofield; Briana Brown and Graham Garvin; Ashton Parker and Harrison Drake; great grandson, Drew Ostermeyer; nephews, John and Joe Schleis, Austin, Texas.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday (11/16/07) at Butherus, Maser, and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A. St., Lincoln. Rev. Mike McMurtry will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Lincoln Memorial Park.
