Lugardita "Lugie" Gonzáles, age 84, went to be with our Lord on Monday, December 28, 2020.
Lugardita was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Paul Gonzáles, parents, Antonio and Erma Griego, brother, Tony Griego and sister, MaryAnn Mora.
Lugardita is survived by her children, Steve Gonzáles, Chris (Hillary) Gonzáles, Matthew Gonzáles, Dorothy (Joe) Sauceda and Eileen (Jay) Johnston, sister, Virginia (Dell) Dalesandro, four grandchildren, Reme Sauceda, Sophie Sauceda, Hailey Gonzáles and Alex Gonzáles and two great-grandchildren, Mireya Sauceda and Pharren Gachupin.
Lugie enjoyed her work as a preschool teacher's aid for over 15 years.
Lugie was happiest when surrounded by her children and family.
Lugie loved singing in the church choir at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, as well as dancing with her husband at the senior citizen dances.
Lugie made many crochet items that she lovingly gave to friends and family.
Lugardita's Life Celebration will begin with a PRIVATE Visitation at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW. A PUBLIC Visitation will follow from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Church located at 820 Broadway Blvd. NE at 9:00 a.m. Lugie will be buried at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Paulette Mora, Mark Mora, Michael Mora, Gene Griego, Reme Sauceda and Daniel Lawrence García. Mass will be livestreamed via Reflections Facebook page - you do NOT need an account to view the services.
Due to the COVID restrictions set in place by the Governor masks are MANDATORY to attend Lugardita's services. The Church currently has a maximum capacity of 75 people. Mount Calvary Cemetery allows for immediate family only to be at the gravesite and asks that all other attendees stand back and practice social distancing.
The family would like contributions to be made to the National Shrine of St. Jude.
