Altoona - Janet Rose Gensamer, 87, of Altoona, PA went to her eternal resting place on Monday morning, December 28th.

Janet was born on July 19, 1933 in Altoona, PA a daughter of the late William and Edna (Farabaugh) Craig. Janet worked for many years at the "Silk Mill" and was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church.

Janet will always be remembered for her faith and trust in our Lord, her love of family, and how she enjoyed sitting on her glider and visiting with all who came to her home. She especially enjoyed playing Pinochle with family and friends.

Janet was pre-deceased by a son, Wilbur Gensamer Jr and her late husband, Wilbur Gensamer and siblings, Bill Craig, Jack Craig, Bob Craig, Charlie Craig, and Judy Baird.

Surviving Janet are her children, Bill (Shirley) Gibbons, Susan (Jim) Crooks, Michael (Theresa) Gibbons, Kevin (Lori) Gibbons, Joe (Renee) Gibbons and Jimmy Gensamer, 19 Grandchildren and 21 Great grandchildren.

Surviving Siblings: Ann (Sis) Rhodes, Dick (Peggy) Craig, Don (Vicki) Craig, Joan (Joe) Wills, Vince (JoAnn) Craig and many nieces and nephews who showered Janet with their love.

Family & Friends will be received at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Rd. York, PA on Saturday, January 2nd at 10:30 am followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 443 Wopsononock Ave., Altoona, PA at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Janet's memory may be made to the Margaret E. Moul Home, (a facility for individuals with Cerebral Palsy) 2050 Barley Road, York, PA 17408 where Janet's Son Jimmy Gensamer resides.

The family sincerely thanks the staff of Altoona Hospice and the White Rose Hospice Team in York, PA for their compassion and professional care these last 7 months.
