Dick was born on February 10, 1926, in Fremont, NE, to Otto and Mayme Brecklin. He married Rita J. Caldwell on July 2, 1960, at The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception. She preceded him in death on November 11, 2011.
Surviving are one son, Richard (Phyllis) Brecklin of Dunlap; and three daughters, Angela (Thomas) Spears of Peoria, Mary (Rick) Stone of Peoria and Karen (Jay) Wirts of Indianapolis, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
Dick proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon returning to the states, he continued his career at Caterpillar, Inc. He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church and its Men's Club, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
A private family Mass will be held and burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
