Ellabell- Mrs. Laverne Anderson McClelland, age 93, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at home under the care of Regency Southern Care Hospice. She was a native of Mendes and long-time resident of Ellabell.
Mrs. McClelland was a loyal and devoted mother, wife, sister and homemaker. She loved caring for her family and was an excellent cook, known especially for her chocolate pudding. She was also a member of Old Fellowship Baptist Church.
Mrs. McClelland is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years James Keiffer McClelland Sr., her parents W. A. and Thelma P. Anderson, and her brother Willie Waldo "Bill" Anderson.
She is survived by her son James K McClelland Jr. "Jimmy" of Ellabell, her daughter and son-in-law, Nita and Ronnie Harvey of Ellabell and her sister Grace Baker of Mendes, as well as four grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday January 2, 2021 beginning at 10:30 A.M. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Morrison Memorial Chapel with Dr. Reland Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Old Fellowship Baptist Church in Stilson.
Due to Covid-19 social distancing and face mask are required.
