Eleanor Berneice Fowler, 76, of 456 E. Fifth St. died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at her residence.

Born Dec. 12, 1923, in Galesburg to Lawrence and Veda Stuckey Winchell, she married Leonard B. "Boyd" Fowler on Aug. 7, 1945, in Galesburg. He died June 22, 1999.

One brother also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, David (and Carol) of Galva and Charles (and Judy) of St. Augustine; two daughters, Sharon (and Edward) Keith of Galesburg and Deborah (and Steve) Lanxon of Altona; 13 grandchildren, including Penny Keith of Galesburg, whom she raised; and friends who helped take care of her, Maurine Perdue of Galesburg and Billie Engle of Knoxville.

She worked at Olstein Home Health Care in Galesburg, retiring in 1997. She also had worked for Galesburg Mental Health Center for several years and George's Cafe in Galesburg.

Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.
