He was born July 5, 1954, in Galesburg to Charles and Erma Jean Courson Welty.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are one brother, Charles Jr. (and Susan) of rural Abingdon; and one sister, Linda (and Bill) Morris of Abingdon.
He attended Knox County Council for Developmental Disabilities, where he built windows in the workshop. He formerly worked as a dishwasher at Henderson Street Steak 'n Shake in Galesburg.
Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.
