Denison Review - Wednesday, July 18th, 1928 - BUCK GROVE July 17 — Once more death has invaded our midst, and gathered home the venerable farm of Mrs. Patrick Clinton. Ann Warren's parents (Charles & Bridget Pierce Warren) lived in Queens County, Ireland, and that is where she was born March 9, 1852.

In 1872 she came with her parents to this country and settled in Illinois. She was married to Patrick Clinton in Dixon, IL on April 16, 1875, and settled on a farm near Amboy, IL. Two years later they came to Iowa, and settled on their own farm between four and five miles southeast of Buck Grove, where they resided continuously until the death of her husband, which occurred February 23, 1914. To this union six children were born, all of whom survive: Thomas A Clinton of Vail; Mrs. Anna Blanton of Sacramento, Ca.; (Mary) Mrs. A B Laird of Dow City; Charles and Michael of Buck Grove; and Katheryne of Ottumwa, Iowa.

Mrs. Clinton was one of the very old settlers of this vicinity, and although absent the last few years of her life, has many old friends who remember her as a loving mother, kind neighbor and one faithful to her religious duties, having always been a devout member of the Catholic church, and all regret her passing.

After her husband's death, she moved with her daughter, Katheryne, to Ottumwa, Iowa, where she has been in failing health for several months with gall bladder trouble, and God called her home July 13, 1928, at the age of 76 years. The remains were brought here Saturday to the home of her son, Charles. The funeral services were held here Monday morning, July 16th, at nine o'clock, in St. Joseph's church. The remains were laid to rest beside her husband in Mount Olivet cemetery in Manilla.
