She married George Goudy Larned in Vermont on October 20, 1850. The couple had two daughters; Mary and Estella. The couple lived in Chicago where he was a hardware merchant. In 1852, he sould out and moved his family to Mt. Pleasant (present day Farmer City), Dewitt ounty, Illinois. In 1861 Larned opened a hardware store in Urbana and the following year moved his business to Champaign. Their home was on the south side of Park Street, three doors west of Neil Street. Calista Larned was Champaign County Supertintendant of Schools with offices above Barnhard's Grocery at Neil and Church. Her husband was mayor ofChampaign 1866-1868.
