LAWRENCE — Chanel S. Pellerin, 88, retired Lawrence Fire Fighter died Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Nevin's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen.
Born and educated in Lawrence he was the son of Alexandre and Alvina (Charest) Pellerin. He attended St. Joseph's Grammar School and was a graduated of Lawrence High School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. and was honorably discharged. He was an attendant of St. Ann's Church in Lawrence, prior to its closing. For 35 years he was a fire fighter in the City of Lawrence and was named fire fighter of the year. After retiring he delivered for local florist shops and also for Letourneau's Drug Store. He enjoyed golfing and carpentry.
The widower of Viola M. (Myers) Pellerin, he is survived by his children, Brenda P. Dionne and her husband Wilfred of Windham, N.H., Wayne J. Pellerin and his wife Laurie of Danvers, Ann Marie Chocquette of Gilled, Maine, Bruce J. Pellerin of Derry, N.H. and Debora M. Pellerin of Methuen. grandchildren, Dawna Trottier, Kimberly Voisine, Sherri Chocquette and Matthew D. Pellerin, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Chanel is also survived by his sisters-in-law Rose Pellerin, Marie Jane Pellerin, Claire Jacklin.
