He was a devoted husband and beloved father.
Gershen was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and through the years demonstrated his intense love of family and the congregation.
He shared with others what he learned from the Bible about God's Kingdom and the promise of paradise conditions that soon will be brought to the earth. His Bible-based hope provides comfort to his family and friends.
Gershen was a journeyman electrician for 30 years at Ford Motor Company.
After retiring, he and his wife traveled around the United States. Gershen and Barbara were longtime residents of Wakeman, where they had a small farm and raised their family. It was the location of many frequent and happy family gatherings. Gershen enjoyed country life and raising vegetables and beef on the family homestead.
He was a steam engine enthusiast and enjoyed model trains.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; his daughter, Glenda (Bob) Gossett; his son, David (Jeanie) Klein; five grandchildren, Noel Klein, Brianna (Casey) Wright, Cory (Romina) Gossett, Kal Gossett, and Brandon (Clarissa) Klein; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery.
