Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Tuesday in First United Methodist Church of Clayton with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. CDT in the Dumas Cemetery in Dumas by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Lola Iris Bolar Geary was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Lenora, Dewey County, Okla., to Elton Eugene and Grace McCarrel Bolar. The family moved to Dumas, Texas in 1931, where Lola married J.C. Geary on Oct. 5, 1941. Shortly after their marriage, Lola and J.C. moved to a ranch north of Clayton to make their home. She was a member of the extension club and loved to paint and do arts and crafts. Lola was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dumas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.C. Geary on May 1, 1976; two sisters, Rella Mills and Edna Sayre; and an infant brother.
Survivors include a son, Max Geary and wife Jacquie of Clayton; two grandsons, Shawn Geary and wife Patti of Tulsa, Okla., and Heath Geary and wife April of Clayton; and five great-grandchildren, Jaci and Molli Geary of Tulsa and Kassie, Koy and Keegan Geary of Clayton.
The family suggests memorials be to Union County General Hospital, 301 Harding, Clayton, N.M., or to a favorite charity.
