Anitha Mary Pimperl Nagelsmit, age 97, born in the Dyas Community and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Oakwood. She was a retired San Diego City Manager for Avon products. She had previously lived in Illinois, California, England and Holland. She visited many places including Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hawaii, Israel, Italy, Austria, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Spain and Russia. She was at the University of Chicago when bus loads of blindfolded people were brought in to work on the first Atom Bomb. She helped establish the First Toastmistress Club in Holland and organized a spectacular Bazaar for charity representing many countries.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly June (Lee Hegwer) Walker of El Cerrito, CA; one brother, Paul Pimperl of Bay Minette, AL; grandson, Andrew Lee Hannan and two great grandsons, Sean Hanan and Collin Hannan.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Reverend Mel Hacker officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 11, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
