Bill was born in Silsbee, Texas and grew up in Beaumont, Texas. He received a scholarship and attended A&M University. He then served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was proud to have served as a Naval Carrier Pilot. He was a proud member of Sons in Retirement and a Lifetime Member of the American Legion. He worked in the trucking industry for many years including owning his own company for several years. He has lived in Bakersfield for the last 40 years including many fun years of retirement. He enjoyed flying and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carol, daughter Cheryl Clarke (Phillip) and son Bob. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to your favorite charity.
