SOUTH BELOIT - Anthony J. (Tony) Cutchins, 74, of 442 Washington St., died Thursday at home.
A Beloit area resident since 1935, he was born on Jan. 1, 1911, in Benald, Ill., the son of Anthony J. and Anna Boski Cutchins. He married Leora King on Sept. 5, 1935, in South Beloit.
Mr. Cutchins was a driver for the Beloit Beverage Co. for 25 years and later worked for the Illinois Tollway for 16 years. He retired in 1975. He served in the National Guard and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Italian-American Club, the Eagles Club, the Teamsters Union and was a former member of the Moose Club.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Joseph J. of Beloit; two daughters, Joann Swanson of Beloit and Shirley (Mrs. Daniel) Pea of Rockford; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and a step-daughter, Eleanora Hunt of East St. Louis, Ill. He was predeceased by a daughter, Anna Cutchins in 1957, his parents, one brother and one sister.
Prayer services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Blackhawk Chapel, with the Funeral Mass of the Resurrection at 1 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Father Daniel Geoghegan will officiate. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where a scripture service will be held at 7 p.m.
