Volna and Wife Francis' House burned down when their children were young. They had family records and an old Bible with family records that burned.

My father, Terry, remembers seeing Volna sitting on his porch smoking his corn cobb pipe.
Volna's wife Francis died at a young age, furthermore, he raised his children without a mother.
Francis and Volna were married Feb. 27, 1882
He is buried next to his wife in Westover cemetery under a simple hand carved stone.
He is the son of Joshua H Halbert and Anna(Kinworthy) Halbert. And, Grandson of James Ira and Francis "Fanny"(Pepper) Halbert
Volna and Francis' children were from oldest to youngest:
Mertle, Lucinda, Bertha, Martin, Austin, Nellie, Sarah.
Volna Halbert is descendant of:
William HALBERT born 1635 in England and son William HALBERT born 1681 in Wales died 19 Feb 1733/34 in Caret, Essex Co. Virginia married Mary Cook born: Abt 1690 in Christchurch, Middelesex, Virginia
