Mrs. Alma Wisner
Alma Whelan, daughter of Ervin and Laura Whelan was born in Franklin township, May 16, 1870 and died at her home near Tipton January 27, 1937, at the age of 66 years, eight months and 11 days.
Her entire girlhood was spent in this community. In 1901, she went to care for her aunt and uncle. Jan. 16, 1908 she was married to Clarence Wisner, who preceded her in death seven years ago. To this union were born three children John B. Wisner and Mrs. Laura A. Patterson at home and one child who died in infancy.
They spent their years of married life on the farm where they shared the joys and sorrows of life together, reared and trained their daughter and son to womanhood and manhood and established their prosperous farm home.
Her major emphasis in life was her home and her family. She had been a member of Tipton Grange for 40 years, being one of the Silver Sheaf members. She was also a member of the Helping Hand Society of Tipton.
She leaves to mourn her departure bedsides her son and daughter five grandchildren and on brother Alton Whelan of Tipton, and a large number of relatives and friends, in fact all who knew her through her life join today with the family in missing her presence and in appreciating her life.
The funeral was held at the home January 30 at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Charles H. Wright officiating. Relatives and friends from Detroit, East Lansing, Tecumseh, Brooklyn and Tipton attended the services.
