Born April 19, 1932 in Tionesta, Forest County, she was a daughter of the late Forrest C. and Nellie (Schmuck) Byers.
She was employed as a personal secretary for 41 years at Standard Register Co. For 28 years she spent winters with her husband in Cortez, Florida, where they enjoyed countless hours boating the waters of the Sarasota Bay. During the summer you would find them at the Susquehanna River on their pontoon boat. A long-time member of Bethel United Methodist Church, she also took pleasure in crafting and ceramics.
Mrs. Munchel is survived by one son, Marlin Knaub and wife, Sylvia of Lewisberry; one step-son, Steve Munchel and significant other, Deb of Red Lion; five stepdaughters, Linda Chronister and husband, Preston of York, Diana Smith of Arizona, Carolyn Milner and husband, Sam of Florida, Patricia Smith of Baltimore, MD and Beverly Keivit and husband, Norm of York; 21 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and daughter-in-law; Cindy Knaub of Brogue.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Knaub and two brothers, Forrest Byers Jr., and Leon Byers.
