Charles L. Arb, 89, of Altamont, died 7:29 a.m., Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the Parsons Presbyterian Manor. His passing was four days before his 90th birthday.

He was born December 17, 1930, at Corwin, KS to Marion and Maggie (Lynam) Arb.

He grew up in Zenda and graduated from the Zenda High School. He served in the United States Army from January 8, 1952 to January 9, 1954 and was stationed at Ft. Myer, VA. While on military duty he served on the Presidential Honor Guard.

After his military service he returned to Zenda and worked in the oil fields four years. From 1958 to 1965 he was employed by the Martin Marietta Co. and lived in Littleton, CO and Norwich, KS during that time. From 1965 to 1967 he lived in Bay Saint Louis, MS and worked for General Electric. In 1967 he moved to Altamont and first was employed at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, then was utility superintendent for the city of Altamont from 1973 to 1980. From 1980 to 1995 he worked for Mid-States Management at Big Hill Lake.

Charlie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Altamont. He had been a Mason for 64 years and had gone through all the chairs at the Altamont Masonic Lodge, including serving as Master. He had belonged to the Elks Lodge over 25 years.
He and Jackie Leslie were married June 13, 1952 and she survives of the home.

Also surviving are his children Rocky Arb (Tina) of Altamont, Derrell Arb (Zoe) of Ft. Worth, TX and Julie Neighbors (Bill) of Garfield, AR; grandchildren Bransie Qualls (Aaron) of Springdale, AR, Chasnie Vinson (Jason) of Bentonville, AR, William Neighbors (Whitney) of Garfield, AR, John Arb (Kylie) of Kansas City, KS, Aaron Arb of Rogers, AR, Brian Arb of Ft. Worth, TX, Shyna Arb (partner Megan) of Ft. Worth, TX and Derrick Arb (wife Dallas) of Ft. Worth, TX; He was preceded in death by five brothers, Kenneth Arb, Olif Arb, Bobby Arb, Clair Arb and Max Arb.
