Betty Jane Peters, age 93, of Peoria, passed away at 7:52 AM on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at her residence with her family by her side.

Born December 23, 1926 in Riverton, IL, she was a daughter to Joseph and Lucienne (Busiere) Matarelli. On June 6, 1954 she married Raymond J. Peters at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Peoria. Together they cherished 20 years until his passing in August of 1974.

Betty worked as a bookkeeper for WD Boyce Company for many years.

She was an avid bowler who enjoyed playing bingo, reading books and cooking for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include four children: Cindy Haines of Weatherford, TX, Kim VanAntwerp of Peoria, Raymond "Joe" Peters of Peoria and Chris (Dorota) Peters of Peoria; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister Nancy Preston of Sarasota, FL.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Raymond.

Due to COVID-19 a private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.
