Child No 6 is my 2nd GGF and his father Solomon (1754-1832) is my 3rd GGF. There is a reference from the RI Historical Cemetery Commission that note: "SAR:1780 Cornet, Troop of Horse, 1st Battalion of Militia. Drafted in 2nd Div Militia for Johnson."
It appears that Solomon served along with his father Lt Daniel Thornton in the Revolutionary War. My mom who just passed away at nearly 99 years of age was a DAR member with Daniel Thornton as her Revolutionary War Ancestor!
