MONROE - Joseph A. Bratley, 85, resident of Cadiz township for 83 years, died Sunday at a convalescent home in Orangeville, Ill. He was born at Atlanta, Ga., Aug. 30, 1857, and came to Green county with his parents when he was two years old. He was married to Eva Wright Sept. 23, 1877, Monroe. He was a member of the Cadiz Methodist church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lena Morse, Brooktondale, N. Y.; Mrs. Charles Cline, Woodford, and Mrs. Don Bobb, Monroe; a sister, Mrs. Frank Stoldt, Genesee; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:45 p.m. at the Shriner-Neushwander funeral home, and at 1:30 p.m. in the Cadiz Methodist church, the Rev. Mr. James officiating. Burial will be in the Cadiz cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
