Violet Elaine Murphy-Meyer, 78, of Manchester died June 1, 1998, at Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center.

She was born Dec. 23, 1919, in Poulsbo. She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1938.

On Dec. 31, 1995, she married Paul Meyer in Lompoc, Calif.

Mrs. Murphy-Meyer worked in the data processing department of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 22 years until her retirement.

Survivors include her husband; one stepson, John Paul of Rockline, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Jacquelyn Whithurst of Colorado and Patricia Honaker of Santa Barbara, Calif.; two brothers, Franklin of Bremerton and Leonard of Bridgeville, Calif.; and one sister, Carol Baker of Tracy, Calif.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. June 4 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
