Clarence Franklin Dozer, age 72, of Wellston, OH passed away Friday morning, July 8, 2005, at the Edgewood Manor Nursing Facility in Wellston, OH.
He was born November 7, 1932 in Vinton County, son of the late Harley and Hazel Waldron Dozer. Clarence was a 1951 graduate of Coalton High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army and the Army National guard of Ohio, having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the B&O/CSX Railroad, with 38 years service, where he served as a train dispatcher.
Clarence was recently employed as a transportation driver for Jackson-Vinton Community Action and was a licensed minister with the Wellston Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the American Legion Post 277 of Coalton, the Wellston and Ray Senior Citizens and the Transportation Communications International Union.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, whom he married on January 29, 1955, Bonnie Martin Dozer; daughters, Sharon Chaney of Hamden, Deborah Sorrell of Wellston and Tamela Marrero of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, Heather Chaney of Chillicothe, Sabrina Chaney of McArthur, Nathan Hedges of Aiea, Hawaii, Jonathan Hedges of Yankeestown, Fl, Chad Sorrell of Hutto, Texas and Jason Sorrell of Friendswood, Texas; great-grandson, Derek Chaney of McArthur, brothers, Charles Dozer of Eufaula, OK, Ed Dozer of Londonderry, OH and Clem Dozer of Irma, Wisconsin; sisters, Madge Mellman of Columbus, OH, Ruth Davis of Westerville, OH, Grace Nugent of Cocoa, FL, Edna Utsinger of Grove City, OH and Thelma Ponko of Nanticoke, PA. Clarence is buried at the Fairview Cemetery in Ray, OH.
