Glen E. Meyers, 81, obituary:

Glen E. Meyers, 81, of Imlay City passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint after a short illness.

He was born October 27, 1921 in Rochester. He lived most of his life in the Romeo area.

He married Charlotte Jean Schmidt on April 17, 1954 in Romeo.

Mr. Meyers worked in stone masonry and wet plaster in Romeo. He had been employed by Romeo Community Schools as a custodian. He retired from Romeo Schools in 1982. He was a member of a Romeo's men's group and he served in the U. S. Army Air Corp. during World War II.

He is survived by daughters, Diane (Larry) Wheatley of Romeo, Debbie (Glenn) Abshier of Attica and Karin Rice of California; son, David (Yvonne) Meyers of Imlay City; four sisters, Violet Dunn of St. Clair, Betty Tucker of Lake Orion, Mary Ann (Wally) Harris of Chicago and Norma (Melvin) Baldwin of Rochester Hills; and brother, Carl (Shirley) Meyers of Rochester Hills. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; Jeff, Chad and Kerrie McMillan, Tawnya Stockdale, Charles and William Wheatley, Michael, Charles and Andy Rice, Larae, Jason, David and Kristy Meyers and Todd Abshier; and nine great-grandchildren; Renae and Alexis Stockdale, Micah, Madison, Lindsay and Angelica McMillan, Christian and Eric Rice and Bryce Stoutenburg. He was preceded in death by a son, Glen Lee; sisters, Netty and Evelyn; and grandaughters, Deanna and Connie Wheatley.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31 at West Goodland United Methodist Church, Imlay City with Pastor Jimmy Barnett, Pastor Pamela Barnett and Rev. Billy Mills officiating. Burial took place in Imlay Township Cemetery, Imlay City. Arrangements were by Muirs Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City.
