The following additional information has been provided by Findagrave volunteer #47263401

Daughter of James M. Dale and Martha Hall, both born in Mississippi.
Siblings: Mary, John, *, Rachel, William, James, Elizabeth, Josephine,

Marriage to W.T. Mitchel January 12, 1869 in Smith County, Texas.
Children: Viola,

----------------------------------
1850: Living in Beat 1, Clarke, Mississippi with parents and siblings.
1860: Living in Starrville, Smith, Texas with parents and siblings.
1870: Living in Starrville, Smith, Texas with spouse and one child.
1880: Living in Precinct 4, Lampasas, Texas, widowed, with one child and brother.
1900: Living in Precinct 4, Lampasas, Texas with married daughter's family.
1910: Living in Precinct 4, Lampasas, Texas with married daughter's family.

Her death certificate states her name as Sallie Jane Dale Hawkins, not Mitchell, and her burial in the family yard in Adamsville. This might have meant the family part of the cemetery, or the yard at the family home. The gravestone photo is of a fairly new stone, probably not one from the time of her death, so whoever did it may have included both parents on it for convenience even though she may not have been buried there.

On the 1900 and 1910 censuses she is Sallie Hawkins, widowed, so she wasn't married to Unknown Hawkins for too long. I couldn't find a marriage record for them, but she apparently kept the name until her death.

Findagrave Volunteer 47006885 shared this additional information:

Sarah 'Sallie' Jane Dale, was the daughter of James M. Dale and Martha Elizabeth Hall Dale, all born in Mississippi. She had several siblings. Sallie married William 'Frank' Mitchel on January 12, 1869 in Smith County, Texas. Their daughter was Viola Emilia Mitchell Standard, born September 26, 1896, in the same county. They moved to Adamsville of Lampasas County to live near his large family by 1870. Frank was killed in the Higgins-Horrell shootout on the courthouse square in Lampasas on June 7, 1877, On December 5, 1881, Sallie remarried in Lampasas. Her second husband was Capt. William Harvey Hawkins, a Confederate veteran, with one daughter, Ada Hawkins Armstrong. The captain and Sallie did not live together long, apparently, as both are listed in the following two censuses as living with their respective married daughters. She is listed as a widow, still using the name Hawkins; he is listed as a widower. Sallie died on April 30, 1910; Capt. Hawkins died on July 8. 1914, and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Merkel, Taylor County, Texas. Sallie may be buried, just as her death certificate states, in the family yard at Adamsville where recently has come to light the broken pieces of a tombstone for W. Frank Mitchell, her first husband. That would mean that Frank and Sallie’s final resting place is beside the barn on the Richard Wolfe place on the east side of Highway 281 in Adamsville. Perhaps she was buried beside Frank there, the graves were lost in the growth of a tree, a cenotaph was installed for Frank in Townsen Cemetery, and then a second one added with her name and his. …Or it may be that both are buried in Townsen Cemetery, and Frank’s original stone was broken and replaced by the second, and the broken one taken to Adamsville as a discard. History keeps some mysteries covered.
