Penrose "Penny" F. Kerstetter, 99, formerly of Paxinos, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
He was a resident of Serenity Gardens in Kulpmont for the last two years.
He was born in Shamokin on August 10, 1921, a son of the late Andrew and Cora (Greager) Kerstetter. He married Marion F. (Pickering) Kerstetter who preceded him in death.
He served in the U.S. Army 63rd Unit Infantry Division in Germany from 1944-1946.
He worked and later retired from Rosini Coal company where he was employed as a coal miner/mine blaster.
Penny was a loving father, brother, uncle, and Pap who adored his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Interment will be at Northumberland Memorial Park in Stonington. A private memorial will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Lebanon VA Medical Center 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
The Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
