"Alphie" was a kind woman with a giving heart. She died suddenly of a heart attack when she was in her 80s.

Alpha experimented in the mystical and was known to be a psychic. She read palms and tarot cards professionally. She foresaw her own death.

Alphie was born in Worth County, Denver Mo. Her Father was George Irvin Branson and her mother was Mertie Defield.

When she was a toddler, she lost an eye. She was in a room alone for only a short time when the accident occurred. No one knows how she lost the eye, but it was probably due to a fork the family found in the room.

Alphie married Elmer E. Phillippie (b: JAN 1888 in Ringgold, Iowa). The two had several children, including: Fern Phillippie (b: 1913); Ruth Phillippie (b: 1915); Elbert Phillippie (b: 28 MAY 1918) in Iowa; Betty Phillippie and Beverly Phillippie (b: 15 Jul 1932). She has several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her twin daughters, Beverly and Betty, were said to be extremely beautiful. People say it was hard to take their eyes away from them. Beverly was killed in a car accident, (death certificate# 30958) but she left behind two daughters, Sherrie and Victoria.

Her brothers and sisters include: Ella Branson, Fenton Branson, Dillard Branson, Lorraine Branson, and Welby Vernon Branson who preceded her in death.

Her funeral was held at the Rupp Funeral home in St. Joseph.
